Virtual Enterprise

Virtual Enterprise International is a trademark of the New York City Department of Education. This program allows students to experience, in a simulated business environment, all facets of being an employee in a firm. They engage in actual business tasks, activities, and transactions including trading with other simulated firms around the world. This experience enables them to develop business, technical, interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. As employees of the virtual enterprise, students undertake market research, develop a business plan and annual report, advertise, buy and sell goods and/or services, pay wages and taxes, and maintain a checking account.

Virtual Enterprises mirror many different lines of business including wholesale, retail, publishing, tourism, consulting, banking, finance, electronics, cosmetics and fashion.
